how to cook a wolf

Interesting name for a blog post ...YES but not if you live in Seattle.  This is the last week of restaurant week so we are heading to one of our favorite places ... How to Cook a Wolf in Queen Anne.  I figured why not throw on a faux fur vest and some gold accessories and off I go to a delicious dinner.

I haven't done a fashion icon post in awhile but after viewing today's top picks on InStyle.com I realized that even though I have no idea how she is so famous (wait I know MTV's The City) I do love her style.  So this weekend I am going to channel Olivia Palermo. Chocolate Festival and fur vest here I come.

bursts of sunshine

Last weekend on my way back to my home town for a friend's wedding I stopped by my favorite vintage shop to pick up some new vintage pieces. I called my jewelry lady to let her know I was in town and would stopping by. She has yet to disappoint (I actually don't think it is possible). I can't wait to showcase my fabulous finds on my blog. I told my boyfriend that it should only take 30 minutes and 90 minutes later I was on my way with a bag full of loot (sorry!!!!!). If you live in the Detroit Lakes, MN area let me know and I will send you June's contact info. She has the most amazing pieces!

When I saw the sun come out today I ran to my closet and found a perfect outfit to show off one of my new necklaces - it reminds me of a burst of sunshine! Happy Wednesday.

not so mellow yellow

I am finally starting to venture out and find Seattle's thrift shops! YA! My weekend find was this fun yellow skirt. When I saw it I immediately thought of multiple outfits I could make so I decided for $9 it was coming home with me. Another find a while back was a pair of black patent Ferragamo's for only $38!!!!! That's right ladies and gentlemen, $38 bucks and I now own my first pair of Ferragamo shoes. This is why I love thrift shopping. You never know what you will find and when you come across a jewel like these shoes it is all worth it. My sister will be proud since we not only stopped at the Ferragamo Museum when we were in Florence, Italy a few years ago but I also convinced her that she needed to buy a pair too. Hee hee hee!!!

The fall weather has begun here in Seattle, which means I get to wear my rain boots everyday. I am starting to think I may need a couple more pairs to get me through the winter (I'm not sure where I will put them but I am confident I can find a spot). I strongly suggest getting a pair of rain boots. It gives you this little-kid feeling where instead of walking around a puddle you get to splash right through it. Now all I need is the perfect rain coat ... and the search begins.

animal instincts

Some things will never go out of style. Like a jean shirt and/or animal prints. That's right real (only vintage) or faux animal prints always have a place in this girl's closet. Plus this allows me to wear my all-time favorite heels!!!! Whooohooo. Oh and I just remembered the last time I wore this vest was with my sister at a Lady GaGa concert. Rock on little monsters!
